Sustainability

Sustainability in every decision

As a full-service production partner, our sustainability principle is practical: every production should be executed with the best possible choices. Together with clients and suppliers, we reduce impact in materials, process, packaging and transport.

Sustainability in every decision

Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

When you order a book production from Italgraf, you do not need to collect an extensive set of certificates for every delivery yourself. We work systematically with our printers to ensure that the packaging meets PPWR requirements and that relevant documentation supports the material choices. For a normal book delivery, this may include cardboard, pallets, stretch film, strapping and other protective materials. The printer should be able to report which materials were used and provide documentation from its packaging suppliers. Do you need to report which packaging was used for a book production after delivery? Contact us. Through the printer, we can obtain material and weight data for the specific order – for example, the quantities of cardboard, plastic and wood. When needed, we can also obtain relevant documentation demonstrating PPWR compliance.

Code of conduct

To clarify our way of working, we have established a code of conduct. It describes our ethical values and rules for our environmental work. At our offices, we do what we can to work sustainably, for example by sorting paper, plastic, toner cartridges and cardboard. Another key factor is how our suppliers view and work with sustainability. To collaborate with us, suppliers must meet our guidelines. Our partners are expected to share our view of code of conduct and environmental responsibility. What our suppliers have in common is that they all, in different ways, actively work to improve their environmental performance. There must also be a social sustainability framework and a code of conduct that is followed. Our code of conduct is based on our principles for human rights, working practices, environment and anti-corruption, and provides guidance for how our employees should act and make sound decisions in day-to-day work. In all external and internal relationships, we follow our ethical standards in meetings with clients, business partners, subcontractors and colleagues. This means, for example, that our suppliers comply with environmental laws and regulations applicable in their country of operation. It also means that suppliers sort waste and promote recycling of materials and energy whenever possible. It can also include compliance with statutory wages such as minimum wage levels, employment security, and rights related to parental leave under local law, including the right to return to work after parental leave.
